Google Maps App Reviews

Today drove home from North Myrtle Beach, SC, to East Tennessee. I know the way—I really didn’t need her, but I typed “Home” in the search bar and fired her up. She insisted I go a different way. I was getting frustrated, because no matter how insistent I was in going the “right” way, she was more insistent that I do things her way. So we decided “why not?” When we stopped to get coffee, I checked the weather map, to see if we were going to beat Hurricane Nate home. As soon as I saw it, I realized what she was doing-she was keeping us as dry as possible. It was inevitable that we would hit heavy rain, but it was only for the last hour instead of the six hours it would have been on the usual route. Google Maps is great. I knew that before. But now I know it looks out for you, too. Listen to her!

Edit: I wrote the review below in early July. But in late September, the "swipe to see the next turns" came back! Much much easier to use and read than the tiny previews. Thanks. Previous review: Please bring back the ability to swipe to see the next turn. I use this all the time. Also, the new static previews are too small, they dont have map context, and they dont stick to north-pointing. By taking all this away, you took away half the functionality, so Im taking away two stars. Im reluctantly hunting for a new map directions app now.

I had the pleasure of getting a facial by Ganna and I would highly recommend her. She is extremely knowledgeable in what she does, has a beautiful warming and welcoming attitude and just an all around great atmosphere. I cant wait for another. You will not regret going to this loving soul.

Useful for user

It works quite well for cycling as well as autos. although doesnt show the tiny one lane roads in France. But beats spending 500 dollars for a Garmin.

As of today, received an error indicating that google maps cannot find a route from current location to any given address. Directions from two points other than current location functions. Problem was resolved only by unselecting user account. Reselecting account repeated error

Frequently crashing after upgrade to iOS 11.

Im using iPhone 6s Plus with iOS 10.3.3, the compass works fine and is able to show the right direction Im facing in normal mode until I start navigating. In the navigation mode the arrow keeps pointing to the wrong direction, and when I turned it into the compass mode, the whole map start spinning every second even if I dont move at all. I couldnt tell the right direction because the map is spinning like crazy, which makes the navigation function useless. (And the voice says "head to the north," but how am I supposed to know where north is?) I tried to recalibrate the compass by the "figure 8" method but to no avail. Please fix this problem as soon as possible!

App keeps crashing post the update. How do you actually make an app worse with an update? Idiots!

I enjoy using them on my iPhone as they incorporate the phones location and thus act like a GPS. All you do is insert the address for your desired destination.

I recently moved to Stuttgart Germany and since I don’t know my way around i have been using my beloved google maps it works like magic but it keeps shutting down or lagging recently.. please fix it or I would have to sleep in the streets since I wouldn’t be able to go back home ?

I hate that you have to click through multiple menus to see the rest of the directions in a trip, and now when you go to start a trip, your saved places arent a top option, which is stupid, as those are often the starting point or destination. Back to Waze it is!
