Maps review

I installed the iOS 11 update and now maps doesn’t what to properly. Once I enter location and initiate route the system does not follow my progress. It never moves. Icon remains where I initiated route. I called tech support and was told my maps was flawed and it would cost $50 to repair using Apple tech support.
