First of all, Google Maps is the best map app out there, I love it and use it all the time. Problem; no more satellite view. The satellite views are extremely useful when finding a location youre driving to, driveways, parking, etc... I need it for work and without it... well... its like we went back in time. Disappointed. :-( Bring back satellite view, please.

Layers now via an icon on screen. Wonderful except it covers up part of the screen, which is why the side bar was useful - which is still there! Theres just less in it now. Timeline - finally - but apparently I havent been anywhere for 2 weeks since 4/14. What used to be a 2 click process to view the overall route and choose alternate routes while navigating is now a 4 click process. Seriously? While driving, make it more difficult? The Android UI and iOS UI are now no longer in sync. I use both. If it aint broke - dont fix it. Aside from the traffic info which is still great, this is getting worse. Still better than Apple Maps though.

Update: Boo! Latest version they rearranged half the UI; the satellite vs terrain layers are more difficult to choose because they have a tiny new button and when you click to select one youve got to click once again to get back to the map. Its also very hard to turn on/off satellite view when directions are going - they had recently made it easy and now again its in deeper settings. Former Review: More data on their maps, more precise, small stores, malls, terrain, etc. Googles driving directions have lane data, which is unique, but it has timing issues on when it tells you about turns. 93% to perfection.

It seems to have a delay... I find myself passing my destination before maps tell me Ive arrived. Sometimes due to construction I need an alternative route... cant just click route options.... I have to pull over and stop to redirect. Android doesnt have this issue.

As a police officer I rely on this app as a "just in case" to help get to calls quickly. Since last update it doesnt even track me on right road. This version is absolutely worthless. Im going down a road I know and the app shows me off in the woods going in different direction. I should have my head examined for downloading this update...

I cant even get the app to show a map. Deleted the app and reload reload it and still frozen with no map. Disappointing
