Great app. Though I do like Waze for their real time traffic updates. Google maps is a bit easier to use than Waze.

Crashes all the time now. I use this app almost daily and now it crashes when I try to open it. Please fix it!!!!!

Great app but public trans directions need improvement asap! They also need to improve their GPS direction giving feature.

I love this app. I use it regularly for the trolley and buses in San Diego. Works like a charm.

Im a big fan of the machine that is Google. But this app is absolute garbage. It sent me countless miles in the completely wrong direction on a recent trip so I instantly deleted it. It really is negligence to have this app running if it isnt going to give directions accurately. Google yes, Google maps never again.

Google has been the leading Maps application since The original Google maps website. They continue to innovate and make the application more valuable.

This thing keeps running in the background even if i select -> use location "while using the app".. What a nightmare!

I commute from DC to Baltimore to work daily and run all apps to optimize travel time. Google out performs Apple almost every time. Although, googles predictions of inner city traffic, for say someone who wants to cross town, can be a bit off at times. Meanwhile, neither Google or Apple have provided the functionality with transit taking that hopstop once did. With hopstop, I never worried about being late while taking public transit because I could enter my desired arrival time and the app would tell me what time I needed to depart to make it by that time. Google maps, please pick up this functionality!!!

On street view, the compass doesnt work. The compass is completely stationary, greyed out, and useless. Who knows why Google disabled it or failed to notice. Attempting to use walking turn by turn directions in downtown Denver was an exercise in futility. The map would not update, it would not show direction correctly, would not tell what direction you were facing or going. Complaints are legion. Google should get on top of this.

Unsafe! Too many taps/clicks to calculate, recalculate and re-zoom trips!!! Annoying!!! My places and recent places should be the first screen to appear or settings should allow this!! One click/tap should allow me to see latest route alternatives to keep me driving safely. For a bonus integrate key functions with hey Siri.

The app is useful. I live in NY and public transportation is my main way to get around, unfortunately I have z terrible sense of direction. This app helps, but I do wish they would add which train/bus I should get on. They tell you the buss/train, but not the specific route. I.e. I need to take the 7 train then the Q30, but the 7 to Main Street, or the 7 to Manhattan? I can usually use common sense to get where I need to, but if they fixed this it would make my life easier. Still, great app!

I am a truck driver and I use this app to find out not only where the place is but which road to take in to a shippers that is best for trucks. I also can see, in advance, which driveway is will keep me out of the car parking lot so that I dont get stuck and have everyone yell at me. In other words I use this app multiple times a day so I look like I know what I am doing! The best part is that I can see what the place looks like during the day just in case I wind up there, for the first time, at night!

There is no voice guide for navigation plz fixxxx Compass always wrong!!!

An update that affected lots of users on iOS 7 or iPhone4 has been fixed. Just in case google reads their reviews, I have a suggestion: to have a feature that compared estimated average commute durations for different starting times when there is a traffic jam so people can decide if it is worth it to stay in town and run some errands rather than sit in gridlocked traffic. They might get home at approximately same time either way so the app could help with that.

Great app I use it all the time it is always on point!!
